A graduate of Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee, Irvin Miller was an actor, writer, playwright, director and producer on both stage and screen for nearly a half-century. He was best known for his annual stage review, the "Brownskin Models," black vaudeville's answer to the Ziegfeld Follies. Long a resident of Philadelphia, he moved to the city of Benton Harbor, Michigan around World War II and used it as a home base from where he sallied forth on tour or back to Harlem or out to Los Angeles.
